Comments:

I worked at Transitional Services, Inc., a residential mental health facility, in Buffalo for eight years after graduating from SUNY/Buffalo. I received my masters degree from Canisius College in 1979 and left Buffalo in 1982 to come to Chicago where I got my doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I have been a staff psychologist at Cook County Hospital in Chicago(now called John H. Stroger Hospital) in the Department of Psychiatry for almost 24 years. I work primarily with children and adolescents in various clinics and in our trauma unit and emergency room. I also have a private practice in Wheaton, IL.

My wife, Julie, and I adopted a baby (Inga) from an orphanage in Russia in 1999. My wife has worked in media research during our time in Chicago and just recently left her job at Nielsen Mediaresearch (the TV ratings company) after being there for 10 years. We are actively involved in our church and in our daughter's school. We live on the northwest side of Chicago near Evanston, IL.

For the past six years, I have been doing extensive psychological evaluations of children and youth who are refugees in this country without their parents. This work is done in conjunction with the Immigrant Child Advocacy Project at the University of Chicago, the International Children's Center in Chicago, and the Vera Institute of Justice in New York.

I continue to be an active runner and have run five marathons since high school.

Hi John. I saw that you commented on Tim O'Neill's profile and decided to comment on yours as well. I have been living in Chicago since 1982 with my wife, Julie. We have one daughter, Inga, who we adopted from Russia when she was almost one year of age. She is now 17 years old. I am a clinical psychologist and retired from the psychiatry department at Cook County Hospital where I worked for 28 years. I currently have a private practice in the Chicago area and have been involved in a number of pro bono projects over the years. Was in Honduras in 2009 working on a human rights project for Texas RioGrande Legal Aid and in March of this year I went on a medical mission with the Syrian American Medical Society to work with Syrian refugees in the Zaatari refugee camp near Amman, Jordan. This was quite an experience. I hope to return in November of this year or March of next year. My mom died many years ago and my dad moved to Chicago in 2010 to be near my brother and I. Unfortunately, he died on September 12 of last year. He often asked about you and Tom. I hope you are doing well. It's only appropriate that you are living in Kentucky since you were always a Kentucky fan even as a kid. Take care. Greg

Hi Tim. I used to live at 44 Milton Street, not far from where you lived. I remember all the times we used to play together as kids. I have been living in Chicago with my wife since 1982 and have one daughter, Inga, who is 17 years old. I am a clinical psychologist and have a private practice in Chicago. I hope you are doing well. Greg
